Prayer blankets
In October 2010 members of Llanrhian Church (situated between Fishguard and St. David’s) formed a prayer blanket ministry. Prayer blankets are created and given to adults and children going through a difficult time in their life. Whilst being made, the blankets are prayed over and dedicated to the healing ministry of God. They are then taken to our church on Sunday to have further prayer and a blessing by the Vicar.
In the beautiful act of making, giving and receiving, the threads of the blankets become interwoven with the blessings of faith, hope and love. The blankets can be requested for anyone, of any faith, or no faith.

If you feel that someone you know would like to receive a blanket, or would just like further information, please telephone or 837649. There is no charge but donations are gratefully received.

Charities we support

PATCH. We continue to support P.A.T.C.H – Pembrokeshire Action To Combat Hardship – by giving groceries and housewares to their food bank, and also by raising money for them. www.patchcharity.org.uk Phone /07775571431 or on Facebook and Twitter.

Since June 2008, Patch has been giving food parcels, clothing and household items to those in financial crisis in our county. Clients are referred to PATCH, perhaps because of a delay in benefits, fire, theft and escaping emergency situations.

In 2013, food parcels were given to 3,000 individuals (a 100% increase on the previous year) and clothing to over 600 people. We also support the annual Christmas Toy Appeal, which last year provided gifts to over 500 children.

Shelter Cymruwww.sheltercymru.org.uk A few years ago the Welsh assembly gave Shelter Cymru a grant to produce a ‘sign poster’ pack for use in rural economies. A group of us run this scheme covering subjects to do with Housing, health, education and general problems. Have a problem? Then you might want to give us a try. In the first instance please e mail Gill Leese at andrewcwmwdig@aol.com

Plan www.plan-uk.org In the poorest countries, one in five children die before their 5th birthday. Sponsorship and donations helps communities fund new projects that address childrens basic needs including clean water, health, education and playtime activities and help fight abuse and discrimination against girls allowing them the same education as boys.

We exchange letters and photos telling us how we are improving their future, how much the are enjoying school and how happy they are to know that people half way around the world are supporting them in their struggle to be self sufficient and changing the lives of generations to come. Wonderfully rewarding, making us feel part of each others lives.
